On your first trip to Nashville, you definitely want to see the Grand Ole Opry. They got their start at the Ryman Auditorium but now they have a new place by Opry Mills Mall. Take a day tour and see behind the scenes just like the stars see it. This will give you a deeper depth of what the Grand Ole Opry is all about.
Be sure you go downtown for lunch. I love to go listen to live entertainment while having a meal. There are several places that have huge windows that open and you get the feel of being outdoors. This is great because when you walk around you can see in and hear the music. This is a great touch for a music experience.
The number one place to visit is along Broadway and along 2nd Avenue. Here you will find the Nashville Bars and Honkytonks. Everyplace has a stage where you can listen to live bands or sing karaoke and most places don't charge to get in.
Second Avenue crosses Broadway and is by the river. It is also a part of the same scene. On Friday and Saturday nights, the streets are full of tourists. There are street musicians entertaining the public mostly along Broadway.
What I like about this area is that several of the bars have windows that swing out of the way and is open to the street. With the street singers, bar music, and laughter from the crowd, it gives an air of excitement.
Legends Corner - Classic Country Honky-Tonk, with stage and dance floor. On this visit we saw lead singer Miranda Willmore and her band Mocking Bird Hill. They have a great country sound. Located 428 Broadway in Nashville, Tn.
Tootsie's Orchid Lounge - Located on Broadway, just in front of the Ryman Auditorium, it was where stars would come between performances to pass the time.
The Stage on Broadway - In Downtown, Nashville Stars come here to entertain and be entertained. It has a dance floor and there is no cover charge. Live Country Music. Second Fiddle - This is a downtown, lower Broadway Honky Tonk that you would expect in Nashville. There is live country music 7 days a week, and it keeps with the tradition of lower Broadway, never a cover charge, 21 and up after 6pm, live music Monday - Thursday 2pm - 3am, and Friday - Sunday 11am - 3am. Wild Horse Saloon - Nashville's #1 Dining and Entertainment destination. The Wild Horse Saloon upgraded a three story historic warehouse into a 66,000 square foot Nashville Entertainment center. The open 3 story dance floor and stage displays a herd of paper machete horses running across the ceiling.

- TPAC is located in the James K. Polk Cultural center which occupies
an entire city block between 5th and 6th avenues. The Tennessee State
Museum is located in the lower floors and is free to the public.

Theatre are the performing arts organizations that have made TPAC their
