Nashville Dragon Park

Fannie Mae Dees Park, also known as Nashville Dragon Park is a small children's park. It is located in the southwest part of Nashville, in the Hillsborough Village area.

The Nashville Dragon Park portion of Fannie Mae Dees Park was built in 1980. Metro Parks of Nashville contacted Mosaic Artist Pedro Pablo Silva to create a sculpture for the playground that the kids could enjoy. A 200 foot long sea serpent was made out of concrete and decorated with colored tile. The ground works as water and the portion of the serpent out of the water create arches for the children to play.

The artist Pedro Silva and more than 1,000 people cut and shaped the designs for the sculpture. Local artists painted the personal designs on the tiles as a gift to the community. The playground is designed for small children. Several small pieces of playground equipment are scattered around the playground. A large entertainment center for the kids to climb on. There is also a mist breathing dragon.

The park never closes and is free. You are welcome to bring your pet on a leash. There is a picnic area and plenty of shade trees. A small public restroom is located close to the play area. If you need the address, Dragon Park is located at 2400 Blakemore Avenue, Nashville, Tennessee 37212.
