Welcome to Nashville, Tennessee
Nashville is the capital of Tennessee, and known as Music City, the Country Music Mecca. It has the small-town warmth with urban sophistication. With major league sports and plenty of entertainment and attractions, it is becoming an ever popular tourist attraction. Surrounded by rolling hills, two large lakes, and the winding Cumberland River, Music City is the heart and soul of Country Music and the home of country music stars. Here unknown artists can come and play their hearts out with the hope of being discovered.
There are different areas around the city where you can enjoy your Nashville Vacation, the main ones are:
"The District" is the area around Broadway and 2nd Ave, one of the South's most exciting nightlife areas. An historic tourist oriented neighborhood teaming with nightclubs and restaurants.
"Music Valley Drive", to the east off Briley Parkway exit 11 and 12 and nestled beside the Cumberland River. Within this valley are the Grand Ole Opry, Opry Mills Mall, and the General Jackson Showboat to name a few. The locals sometimes call this area "Nashvegas". The majority of the theaters and shows in Music Valley feature performers from the Grand Ole Opry.

"Printers Alley" is a back alley which got its name from so many printing operations in the 1930's. Today, food and live entertainment is found there. It is located between 3rd and 4th avenue north.
"The Gulch" is the area around Demonbreun Street and 12th Ave. It is being transformed into an urban village, making the time of old freight railroad tracks and run-down warehouses a forgotten memory.
"Music Row" is located in Nashville's 16th and 17th Avenue South area. In the 1950's it became a center of the recording industry. There are hundreds of businesses related to the country, gospel, and contemporary Christian music industries. Most made up of offices for several record labels, publishing houses, licensing firms, recording studios, video production houses, and other business that support the music industry.
